My laptop crashed and I bought a new pc, when I started my windows live mail,
all my messages were there but not my storage folders, does anyone know where
they are at? and how to retrieve them? I have saved emails in them that I
really need to recover. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Your "Storage Folder" are locally stored messages that you chose not to sync
with the server. They are on the old, crashed PC. If you can still access that
drive or PC, you may be able to recover the messages from those folders. If not,
and you haven't backed up, they are gone.

The newsgroup that you seek further help on this problem within is:

You need to keep those saved messages backed up just in case what happened
to you happens. With Windows Live Mail window open, open file then click
export messages then choose Windows Live Mail then select folder to save in.
You should create a folder on your C: drive first and name it something like
Saved Messages. Then choose that folder to export your messages to. There's
a little more involved but you should be able to figure it out.
