Live Synch only working 'one way'
(too old to reply)

I upgraded to LS from FS installing both on my desktop and laptop. I use Palm
desktop as my calander. If I amend the calander on my desktop the changes get
synched to the laptop but not the other way round. I have reinstalled it, but
the same thing happens - indeed, all the input I did on the laptiop was wiped
off when it synched with the desktop. Any ideas?

Is it possible that the Palm Desktop was still open on the Desktop machine when
you updated the Laptop copy? If so, the desktop machine's copy of the file was
newer that the latop copy, hence the one way sync. That, of course is simply a
guess at the possible cause.

Thanks for the reply, but no it was not open on the desktop. I have tried it
both ways again (making sure Palm was closed on the machine that wasnt being
worked on) and in every case, it will only accept changes made on the desktop.

If I do any changes at all on the laptop then everything on the palm
calander for example gets wiped off as soon as the synch takes place -
replacing everything with what is on the desktop version.

Since the sync is full file only, I'm still leaning towards the fact that the
file on the desktop machine is appearing to be newer than the one on the laptop
despite the fact that you've updated the laptop file.
Before initiating the next Sync, try updating the laptop file, take LiveSync off
line on the laptop, and then go to the desktop and look at the file properties
for the time stamp. Then enable LiveSync on the laptop and see what happens to
the time stamp on both files.
It may be worth contacting support for this.

And, note that there is now a newsgroup for LiveSync. I'm not sure why this one
still exists....
